Positive thinking…It is a cliché I know, after ‘The Secret’ came out it became the popular thing and everyone jumped on the thinking positive band wagon.
Being positive and finding the good in every situation is something that I have worked on throughout most of my adult life. I find it refreshing to look at a situation and find the good in it when most people only see the negative. I am not going to lie – it isn’t easy and there are days when I feel like there is just nothing going right for me and things seem to be crumbling left, right and centre. At times like this, I take a step back, prioritize and put things into perspective, which helps me realize, that even on my lowest days I have a LOT to be thankful for.
Being positive isn’t about belittling stressful situations and not giving serious issues the respect they deserve, it is about facing these issues with a certain mindset. With one that is a belief that you can conquer the battle you are about to face. Finding your footing, standing up straight and having faith in yourself that you will, without a shadow of a doubt, overcome what you are about to face and come out a stronger, more confident individual.
I guess what I am trying to say is – even when it seems like the world has turned all the lights off, if you work hard and continue to be persistent you will find the switch that turns everything back on.
